The Radiology Department at River Park Hospital provides high quality diagnostic services. The department provides a complete line of specialty services to the community and the physicians in the area and is staffed by a board-certified radiologist and highly qualified, credentialed technical staff.

RPH’s Radiology Department uses medical radiation and diagnostic imaging techniques in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. The Department works with the most advanced technology available, allowing the early diagnosis of many diseases and disorders without surgical procedures.
Bone Densitometry
River Park Hospital’s bone densitometer takes Bone Mineral Density (BMD) measurements, which enable our radiologist to determine a patient’s risk of fracture and osteoporosis. Our professionally trained and certified staff utilizes a Lunar DPX Alpha densitometer for high-resolution imaging and fast, precise measurements.
CT Scan
The 64-Slice GE LightSpeed VCT XT configured system complements and extends the range of quality diagnostic services that RiverPark offers to the residents of our community.
Our CT Scanner offers the advantages of three-dimensional capabilities and a significant increase in the speed of turnaround time — a test which previously took 30 minutes now takes approximately two or three minutes. In addition, up to a third less injectable contrast material is needed for a procedure. The Hi Speed CT technology allows for 3D image reconstruction which reduces radiation exposure, exam time and provides improved imaging capabilities.
The CT incorporates one the most advanced diagnostic tools for helping physicians reach confident diagnoses to provide the best patient care. This technology provides advanced neurological imaging, cardiac imaging and orthopedic reconstructive capabilities. In addition to improved quality of the images produced, we are also able to provide improved patient safety and comfort with lower doses of radiation and shorter procedures.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
MRI is a painless alternative to X-rays. With a large magnet, radiowaves and a computer, your body is scanned to provide very detailed pictures of areas that cannot be viewed on conventional X-rays. MRI exams make it possible for physicians to examine certain types of tissue and obtain important information that will help them in the diagnosis of disease, bone and joint abnormalities and a multitude of other possibilities.
Mammography (ACR Accredited)
Mammograms are low energy X-rays of the breast that are used to screen apparently normal breasts for cancer. Early detection of breast cancer is known to save lives. Yearly mammograms are recommended for women 40 and over, though screening schedules should be determined by your physician.
River Park Hospital is staffed with a highly, qualified, nationally board certified, credentialed Mammography Technologist. RPH offers every woman the new Mammo-Pad: a soft foam pad that provides cushion between you and the mammography machine.
Life-saving technology has never been more convenient. Our new state-of-the-art digital mammography system is twice as fast as conventional film-based mammography. This powerful, new technology also delivers highly detailed images for a more accurate diagnosis. In fact, our digital mammography detects up to 28% more cancers in women 50 and younger and in “difficult-to-image” categories, compared to traditional screen-film mammography.
Our Imaging Services offers a full range of ultrasound services that includes cardiac, obstetrical and gynecologic, vascular, abdominal and breast imaging.
