One Woman. One Life. One Difference. Breast Cancer Awareness and Prevention Program
River Park Hospital, in partnership with WCPI FM Radio, is currently offering free screening mammograms to underserved women in the Upper Cumberland. To qualify, women must be between the ages of 40 and 65, be uninsured or underinsured, live in the Upper Cumberland and meet set financial guidelines (below). A doctor’s order is needed to participate in the program, and can be provided by River Park Hospital prior to scheduling if necessary. Funding for this program is provided by the Upper Cumberland Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Foundation. An appointment is required for one of the scheduled free screening days.

Just Friends
Just Friends is a membership-based organization that is sponsored by River Park Hospital. The annual membership fee is $15. The Just Friends program is designed to promote active and healthy lifestyles beyond the age of 50. Meetings are held on the final Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm.
The monthly meetings feature membership news, a presentation from a special guest speaker and a potluck meal. The meetings take place at the Best Western Tree City Inn Meeting Room (unless otherwise specified) and visitors are welcome. A list of guest speakers for 2010 is below. 2010 Hispanic Health Fair – Saturday, September 25, 2010 – 8:00am until 11:00am
River Park Hospital’s second annual Hispanic Health Fair will be held in the hospital’s main lobby. The event will focus on the health concerns that most affect the Hispanic population, including diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity.
Everyone is invited to attend this free health event. Free cholesterol and glucose screenings, blood pressure checks and body fat analyses will be available on a first come, first served basis. Vendors will be on hand providing health, wellness and social services information to attendees. Women ages 40 to 65 who meet certain financial, insurance and residency guidelines could qualify for free screening mammograms.
Blood Assurance Blood Drives 2010
The community is invited to participate in all of the 2010 blood (and platelet) drives at River Park Hospital. To learn more about Blood Assurance blood drives in the community please call 1-800-962-0628.
Blood Assurance is the non-profit, full-service regional blood center that is responsible for providing all of the life-saving blood products used at River Park Hospital. They obtain their blood supply solely from volunteer donors from all over their service area. In addition to Warren County, they provide blood and blood products to health facilities in 30 other counties in Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama and North Carolina.
Please remember that donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 with parental consent), weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good general health to participate. Certain medications and physical conditions may affect eligibility. Donating blood is safe, simple and saves lives.
