River Park WCHS donates $800
May 30, 2012As sister hospitals under the Capella Healthcare network of hospitals, the relationship between River Park Hospital and Highlands Medical Center (formerly White County Community Hospital) has always been a friendly one. For a few weeks during football season, though, the two hospitals competed to see who could raise the most money for their respective high schools’ athletic programs.
Highlands Medical Center was the first to issue the challenge that was named “BORDER BATTLE: Warriors vs. Pioneers”. Employees at both hospitals set out to prove which of them had more team spirit and could raise the most money. The Border Battle Cup, a trophy created especially for the occasion, was at stake, in addition to bragging rights for the entire year.
